I am telling the story of growing up with a Korean Grandma and how her memories influenced my way of interacting with the world around me. She left behind hundreds of journals. This treasure trove of firsthand accounts has allowed me to examine how her identity has impacted my own. The intersection of design and traditional media used represents the old--my grandma's memory--and the new--my lived representation of that. Asking the question, how we are a reflection of those around us and what that that identity means to us. By honoring her memory, I prompt the audience to examine how their own families' lived experiences have influenced them, creating wholly unique personalities and identities.
